Similar to the medical X-Ray inspection, in this inspection method, the radiation beam scatters by the radiation source (Radio-Isotope scatters y-rays and roentgen source scatters X-rays) and passing through the inspected specimen.
If the inspected specimen is homogenous with no imperfections, the radiation beam will reduce equally and will blacken the film equally.
If there is an imperfection in the specimen the beam that pass through the imperfection will reduce less then the beam that pass through the homogenous area and will cause a darker sign on the file with the imperfection shape.
Radiographic film called Radiogram.
This inspection is able to detect imperfections such as cracks, porosities, slags, pittings, internal shape of ensembles, concrete concealed steel bars identification, weld defects of 1.5% of the specimen thickness and more.
Applicable on castings, tanks, welds, pipes, constructions, electric ensembles and more.
